| aktör & vänner is a venue and production house for independent performance artists with strong and personal artistic agendas.
The venue is located at Masthuggsterrassen 3 in Gothenburg, Sweden next door to Masthuggsteatern. Since 2008 it's run as a platform by four performance artists; Johan Forsman, Åsa Gustafsson, Johan Rödström and David Sperling. Through our own productions, co-productions and residencies we want to present and strenghten artistic expressions that research new forms of processes, participation and meetings or which problematize the format and economy of performing arts. The venue defines performing arts in its broadest sense; at aktör & vänner you can see theatre, dance, poetry, music, art installations and everything in between. We are interested in performing arts as a meeting or an interaction, rather than as a product to consume. Besides producing our own performances, aktör & vänner also runs a residence program, arranges festivals, guest performances and tours. |
aktör & vänner is an intimate venue with 50 seats, bringing together audience and artists, art and informal meetings. Our goal is to create a place that activates everyone's creativity and challenges us through new kinds of meetings and interactions between artists and audience. aktör & vänner opposes any kind of elitism and exclusion; we want to demarginalize the independent theatre and make it an exiting part of the public debate and the public environment.
